Connecting different pipe materials and dimensions can be a challenge in both water supply and wastewater applications. Recent projects in Spain and the Netherlands demonstrate how Repico® couplings provide reliable, flexible and efficient connections, even under demanding installation conditions.
Repico® couplings for a flow meter test facility in Spain
A new flow meter test facility for DN600–1000 has been constructed in Majadahonda, Madrid. The project owner is Canal de Isabel II – Regional Ministry of Environment, Housing and Agriculture.
The test facility is located at Majadahonda Water Treatment Plant and has been installed above the reservoir. Its primary purpose is to measure the accuracy of flow meters to improve water transport and supply throughout the distribution network.
The project supports the transition towards more environmentally friendly and digital technologies that will contribute to the ambition of creating a greener future.

Repico® couplings for a DN1500 for a wastewater pressure pipeline in the Netherlands
The wastewater pressure pipeline between Moerdijk and Bath in the Netherlands is a vital part of the regional wastewater infrastructure. Through two pipelines with a combined length of 60 km, wastewater from 35 towns and villages is transported to the treatment plant in Bath, Zeeland.
To secure reliable wastewater transport in the future, several sections of the pressure pipeline have been renewed. It was necessary to create transitions from existing PSK concrete pipes and Bonna Sentab VSP pipes to new GRP pipes. Connecting various pipe types, with very limited tolerances of only ±1 mm, made it essential to ensure precise dimensional accuracy and flexibility. In close collaboration with the customer, five Repico® STFL DN1500 couplings were developed to meet the specific requirements of the project, from engineering to installation. The couplings have a width of 310 mm and a tolerance of 12 mm and are made in AISI 316L stainless steel and fitted with a rubber gasket, ensuring an excellent combination of strength, flexibility and sealing reliability.
