AVK hosts Danish-Chinese Business Forum's annual meeting

The objective of the Danish-Chinese Business Forum is to create the best possible settings for relevant parties in the Danish business community regarding a key issue: how we do business with China.

The theme of the annual meeting was partnerships within water solutions. Therefore, it was relevant to hold the annual meeting at AVK, considering our position as market leader within valves and hydrants for water supply, and since we have exported products to China for numerous years and have several factories in the country.

Speakers at the annual meeting

After a welcome by the chairman at Danish-Chinese Business Forum, Vice President at A.P. Møller-Maersk Claus V. Hemmingsen, and a short presentation of AVK by CEO Niels Aage Kjær, the key note speakers were the Danish Foreign Minister, Anders Samuelsen, and the Chinese Ambassador in Denmark, Deng Ying. The key note speakers both emphasised the necessity of cooperating and that there will only be losers in the potential looming global trade war.

At the annual meeting AVK shared their experiences from the water industry in China. In addition, an expert panel weighed in with their suggestions for how to prepare as best as possible for the challenges. 

Furthermore, the association’s newly deceased patron, HRH Prince Henrik, was honoured and recognised for his great effort in the Danish-Chinese business cooperation.

Management in a musical perspective

At the end there was a musical contribution by the Copenhagen Philharmonic under the guidance of Uffe Savery (known from the group Safri Duo). During the presentation Savery talked about the necessity of collaboration, innovation and creativity which applies to both companies and a symphony orchestra.
